What can I say Max and Marian put together a great wedding! I love photographing at the Allegria Hotel it's one of my favorite locations! Their wedding was the FIRST beach wedding at the Allegria hotel and a beautiful sunny September day. It started with them dancing yes dancing down the isle. I only wish I had a video camera to capture this. People were watching from the boardwalk above and as the music carried through the air everyone's heads turned to watch their moves! Max was only a few feet onto the beach when he took out his camera and started photographing their guests as he proceeded down the isle! It was so much fun!

I had an amazing time photographing Rae-Ann & Billy's Wedding in Charleston, S.C! One word...HAMS! Really! They were a lot of fun to photograph, every time I went to take a picture of them they were already snuggling up to each! Not mention that Rae's great smile made it supper hard to narrow down the photographs.

Maria and German were great to photograph and their wedding was a lot of fun to shoot! I had photographed Maria's brother's wedding last year so it was really nice to see familiar faces at their reception. They are off to Florence (one of my absolute favorite places to visit.) and then Barcelona for their honeymoon!
P.S. Maria's mom hand made her gorgeous wedding dress!!!

Meredith & Matt's Wedding Bubby's Brooklyn, NY

Meredith & Matt got married on April 18th, the first nice Sunny day of the Spring! It was so gorgeous out! They get married at Old St. Patrick's Church on Mulberry Street in Soho. Meredith surprised Matt by renting an antique checker cab which was waiting in front of the Church as they left the ceremony. As they stepped out of the church they were cheered on by a group of rooftop sunbather across the street! Meredith's reaction to them was great! We headed over to the Ferry landing for shots under the Brooklyn Bridge before arriving at Bubby's.

Jose & Rosalyn's Wedding - Pleasantdale Chateau, NJ

Jose and Rosalyn had a beautiful sunny January afternoon for their wedding at The Pleasantdale Chateau. Rosalyn is an artist and displayed her ceramics throughout the reception. The centerpieces for each table were tall teal colored vases that she made. It added a great colorful and personal element to their celebration. Her amazing lace dress was hand made by Jose's mother and Teresa (one of the bridesmaids) envisioned and directed the making of the bridesmaid's dresses! I had a great time photographing their wedding with all of the different backdrops at Pleasantdale!

There are many great wedding locations in Newport but it's hard to beat Easton's Beach. The City of Newport has a website with info. and recently renovated the space to further enhance it's incredible views! I shot Julie and Josh's wedding there they held the ceremony on the beach with a great cocktail reception around the carousel. Which featured a black bean martini appetizer! The reception followed in the rotunda over looking the water while guests used Polaroid instant cameras help capture the festivities! You can view their slide show on the right ->

Where do I begin Saskia and Andy's wedding had so many great details. First there was the surprise cotton candy from Dylan's Candy Bar in lieu of flowers! Yup the bridesmaids and flower girls got to walk down the isle with bright pink cotton candy!!! It was really great! Then at the reception Saskia surprised Andy with a one of a kind ice sculpture a large heart with a lawn mover carved in the middle. Andy loved it and was so excited to see it. The theme of there wedding was a heart and lawn mower Herz and Mower being their last names! The reception was held at the Lotos Club on East 66th an NYC landmark and one of the oldest literary clubs in the country where the likes of Mark Twain and other young writes and journalists have spent time there since it opened in 1870.

Eimear and Jon's wedding was held at the Historic Park Hotel. An estate, formerly the summer residence of the Marquis of Headfort. It was beautiful sunny day (having rained the day before and the day after!) and we had a chance to take great shots out near the main house. The dancing was incredible and the festivities latest well into the night!

The view of New York City form the academy is really beautiful. Caryn and Gene got married at one of my favorite times of the day twilight. The warm color cast was so great for portraits and everyone enjoyed the view of the NYC skyline throughout the night as the ballroom overlooks Long Island Sound!

I was really excited to photograph Yuko and Andrew's Wedding! I had been to Cold Spring a few times and loved the New England feel of this quaint town. It is just about an hour outside of New York City on the Hudson River. The Plumbush Inn is a beautiful Historic 1867 farm house with cozy rooms and a wonderful garden. The details of their wedding included large blue hydrangea plants as the center piece and origami flowers for each setting.

A little rain never hurt a thing! Pedro and Elodie were kind enough to let me drag them out onto the deck for a shot with the Brooklyn Bridge and the awesome blue sky. It was my first wedding out on the New York City harbor and the skyline view was an incredible backdrop to the dancing and celebration of their wedding!

I had such a difficult time editing the photographs from Saskia and Andy's portrait session. You are really just going to have to watch the slide show because there are too many pictures for me to post. Saskia grew up right near the Metropolitan Museum of Art and in knowing how quickly a little rain will blow the flowers right off the trees she called me to plan their engagement session. It was a gorgeous spring afternoon and on learning she wanted to take some photographs at the MET I quickly took them inside to the natural light fill sculpture hall. Back out in the park we had a lot of fun between Saskia's contagious smile and Andy's energetic enthusiasm for all the locations I had in mind it was an awesome shoot. I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding in September! Thanks Saskia and Andy!

She is pregnant with her third gorgeous babe (a girl!). Did I mention she is due in just three short weeks?!!! The baby's name is a surprise I have tried to guess her name to no avail so I just refer to her as Persephone ~

After the actual photographing of the wedding by far my next favorite part is designing and assembling the wedding album! It is so much fun to see the individual photographs together telling the story of the whole day. I think I get almost as excited as the couple in seeing the final album. I thought Julie's e-mail was a great expression of this excitement!

Shake it Like a Polaroid Picture!

While you still can...I am very sad to learn that Polaroid has announced it will no longer produce it's instant film after this year! Luckily there will be enough to go around through '09 and supposedly for die-hard Polaroid fans, the company plans to license the technology to third-party outfits that will continue production... but who knows to what extent. I have shot so many packages of Polaroid in fact my very first camera was a gorgeous beige Polaroid! So in honor of the intrinsic beauty and one of kind magic that Polaroid film brought to life I will be posting some of my Polaroid work this week. Here is one from Italy...

Getting married in Europe...

I met Kathleen and Michael in April of 2006. They were so nice and I loved their Art Deco inspired wedding. When they hired me it seemed as though the 14 months until their big day would pass slowly. Before we knew it I was joining them for their rehearsal dinner and the festivities had begun! Their wedding was held at the historic Our Lady of the Rosary Church across from the Staten Island Ferry. The church had an open door policy during late 1800's assisting many young women who were immigrating to the US. The reception was at P.J. Clarke's in Midtown we took some great shots of them in the corner booth were they first met for dinner!
